Glossary of Terms : Boudoir
A boudoir is a lady’s personal bedroom, sitting or dressing room. The term comes from the French verb ‘bouder’, which means to “pout” or “sulk”.
Originally, the boudoir was part of a lady’s private suite of rooms and used for bathing and dressing, and it was adjacent to her bedchamber. In later times the boudoir was a small, elegant, feminine, quiet sitting-room where a lady would go to read, write, embroider or entertain intimate acquaintances or friends.

A great deal of “boudoir photos” are created in a photographer’s studio where it has become the fashion to create a set of alluring photographs for ladies of all ages, shapes and sizes in the “soft and sensual boudoir” style; this often involves partially clothed images or photos in lingerie and has become more than just a passing fad for brides to surprise there future husbands Bridal Boudoir Photo Shoot.

These are a selection of photographs printed in an album given to J’s partner as an anniversary present. J has never modelled before and this was her first time in front of a camera in a studio. He was very pleased with the present as he had always wants photographs of J but never expected something like these.
A successful working studio run by award winning, Danny James in Bedford. Danny greeted me warmly and over a cup of coffee started talking to me about what type of photography I was doing. He happily shared all sorts of information with me even though I am a potential competitor. This covered equipment, suppliers, software, hardware and techniques.
These are the results from a portrait photography shoot in Bracknell, Berkshire. I used it to develop and improve posing, lighting and photography techniques as well as to extend my portrait portfolio.
