In the beginning… | Photographs from Space

Main Website Portrait Photographer Berkshire

This is a an amazing collection of photographs (not mine unfortunately) of space put to music which I did compose. I find it easier to believe that God created all of this rather than believe it was created from nothing by nothing in no time at all. But however it was created, I think we can all agree that it is amazingly beautiful.

Glossary of Terms : Boudoir

Soft and Sensual Boudoir PhotographA boudoir is a lady’s personal bedroom, sitting or dressing room. The term comes from the French verb ‘bouder’, which means to “pout” or “sulk”.

Originally, the boudoir was part of a lady’s private suite of rooms and used for bathing and dressing, and it was adjacent to her bedchamber. In later times the boudoir was a small, elegant, feminine, quiet sitting-room where a lady would go to read, write, embroider or entertain intimate acquaintances or friends.

Examples of soft and sensual photographs can be seen at Boudoir Photography.

Berkshire Bridal Boudoir MomentA great deal of “boudoir photos” are created in a photographer’s studio where it has become the fashion to create a set of alluring photographs for ladies of all ages, shapes and sizes in the “soft and sensual boudoir” style; this often involves partially clothed images or photos in lingerie and has become more than just a passing fad for brides to surprise there future husbands Bridal Boudoir Photo Shoot.

Boudoir Feathers PhotographJohn Wood Photography specialises in finding the an original and unique style for each customer by discussing what they like and how the customer wants to achieve it. Often the end result is influenced by the tastes of the intended recipient of the photograph or album, but it is also a way for a woman to see herself portrayed in a beautiful and sensual manner.

It is widely experienced that most women find it a very enjoyable and rewarding experience and change their views of their own bodies when they see the photographs.

Different results are achieved through the use of make-up artists, hair stylists and photoshop, but there is also something to be said for finding and capturing the beauty that already exists within a woman. Make-up can generate a feeling of confidence, without make-up there is a vulnerability which, when photographed sensitively, is appealing and sensual.

10 reasons why I take photographs…

Why do I take photographs and why do I want to do it for a living?

Well the answer to the second question is the easier of the two, “because I was not enjoying being an IT manager after 30 years in the industry”. So why take photographs?

Over my first year as a full-time professional photographer, I asked myself this question many times. Each time I came up with a different answer. The more photographs I took, the more I learn about photography and what makes me tick. Here a some of my latest photographs.

Elemental – Studio Flash

dsc_0018A successful working studio run by award winning, Danny James in Bedford. Danny greeted me warmly and over a cup of coffee started talking to me about what type of photography I was doing. He happily shared all sorts of information with me even though I am a potential competitor. This covered equipment, suppliers, software, hardware and techniques.

I had arranged and paid for studio tuition with Danny and a model (Leander) so I could see how all the different equipment worked in practise and then I had a couple of hours using the equipment on my own, with advice available from Danny when I wanted it. Here are a few shots with her. Continue reading Elemental – Studio Flash…

About John Wood – Portrait and Wedding Photographer Berkshire

Website: John Wood Photography
I am a full-time professional photographer based in Ascot but am open to working anywhere.

My passion is taking photographs of people that they appreciate and want to have. I have been doing this since 1977 when I was given my first camera. For you cameraphobes, I now use a Nikon D300 with 50mm 85mm and 18-200mm lenses.

Over the years I have given audio visual slides shows with dual projectors (that is going back a bit now) and more recently created the modern equivalent in mpeg format. I have also dabbled in video editing of events with multiple cameras.

I take all sorts of photographs from Passports to Fine Art to Commercial Portraits and also enjoy the event side of photography such as Weddings, Parties and Events. I started doing this professionally full-time in 2008, just before the credit crunch!!!

I am married with two sons and am a recent Grandad and therefore have a new model for my camera.
